What we really need…

I've been thinking a lot about Maslow's hierarchy of needs lately, especially about the prospect of self-actualization as a destination.
It's occurred to me that self-actualization isn't the end point, but the beginning of another cycle - or level, if you prefer. I'm still thinking a lot about this, but I believe that once we have actualized the self (if we ever do - and that's my hope for us all), we must then go on to articulate and express the self, and it may well be that the only way to do this is to give of ourselves in a way that transcends the self.
In other words, it always begins with yourself, but if we are to live dynamic lives then it must end elsewhere, and where there isn't self, there must be others.
So, no matter where we depart from, we are always carried back to compassion. And compassion, as we all know, well, that's the only destination worth arriving at. See ya there. :)

Take care, keep safe, and stay beautiful,

With love and peace,
